Mechanical Engineering InternAug 2026 – May 2027
JabilThe fixture is not just a holder. It is the mechanical interface that makes the experiment valid.
A precision machined fixture designed to hold an array of co-packaged optics components during CO₂ snow-cleaning experiments.
01 · The Fixture
The fixture is being designed to control the hardware so the cleaning process can be studied.
Every component has to sit in the same place, the same way, trial after trial, while the nozzle and the camera can still reach it.
02 · The Experiment
The fixture supports a broad DOE, not a single-variable demonstration.
Selected factors will be varied during testing, while others will be controlled or recorded to support meaningful comparisons.
Candidate factors. Final levels and combinations will be defined through the approved test plan and equipment capabilities.
03 · The Optimization
The best fixture is not only accurate. It must also be practical to manufacture, quick to set up, and repeatable enough to support a large experimental matrix.
Project ongoing. Conceptual visuals, not the actual fixture, test plan or results.
